Jessica serves as a Cannabis and Intellectual Property attorney at Hiller PC as well as outside General Counsel for the national organization Minorities for Medical Marijuana Inc. As a cannabis attorney, Jessica assists cannabis clients navigate the legal cannabis and hemp industry in the areas of corporate and intellectual property law, and state licensing applications. Jessica also counsels corporate and individual clients on intellectual property procurement, and prosecution, and protection and enforcement of domestic and international trademarks. She also has the distinction of having presented the very first cannabis industry training to over 400 government officials and examining attorneys of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
As a sought after speaker, author and contributor, Jessica has presented on the municipal, state and federal levels on topics such as social justice/social equity, IP protection, cannabis legislation and state cannabis licensing. Jessica was a member of the social impact committee for NJ CAN 2020, the coalition that ran the most successful cannabis legalization campaign in the country. Through her advocacy efforts, Jessica has helped shape cannabis policy on the statutory, regulatory and municipal levels in New Jersey. Jessica is also an alumni of the New Jersey New Leader’s Council, a national organization that selects civic leaders in their respective fields. In 2021, Jessica was appointed Chair of the Social Equity Continuing Legal Education Webinar Series of the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA). She currently sits on the board of NJ NORML.
Jessica was named on NJBIZ’s Next Generation of Leaders List for 2021 for her work influencing cannabis policy in New Jersey. She was deemed one of the 22 people to watch in the NJ Cannabis Industry in 2022, one of 21 people to watch in the NJ Cannabis Industry in 2021 and named as one of NJ’s top 20 Cannabis Influencers in 2020. Most recently, Jessica received the “Rising Star” award by the NJ Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the largest chamber of commerce in NJ. And for 2022, Jessica has been designated a Cannabis Law Trailblazer by the National Law Journal.
